This frozen mint limeade recipe is cooling and refreshing. Perfect for a hot summer day and whips up quickly in the blender.
While on a school sponsored trip to Costa Rica to study coffee production, myself and a small group of grad student stopped by an Argentinian restaurant in San Jose. Our trip was nearing the end and we were spending our last day exploring the city. The building was unremarkable, but the interior was lively, in both décor and energy.
The menu was filled with many meat options, as to be expected at an Argentinian restaurant, but one thing that stood out to me was a frozen lime drink. I ordered it and when it came to the table, it was love at first sip. Ice cold (of course), tart, sweet, and minty, all of my favorite things. My actual meal was delicious also, but that drink was unforgettable.
Below is my attempt to recreate that drink and trust me it’s just as good as the one I had in Costa Rica.
My frozen mint limeade is perfect for those hot summer nights and easy to prepare for group of friends. Be sure to garnish your drink with a sprig of mint and a lime slice.

This looks amazing!! I love fresh mint and limeades. I wouldn’t have thought to make it frozen. Trying this, this summer!
This drink will definitely keep you cool this summer.
I feel like I’m an oddball in the sense that I’m not a huge fan of lemonade. Instead, I’d much rather have a tall glass of limeade. And, in this Texas heat, this frozen version sounds even better.
Ohhh I have a bunch of mint that needs to be used up, and this is what I’m using it for! It looks so refreshing, and delicious!
I live in Houston where it is already 100 degrees! So I’m going to ahead and save this recipe LOL. It looks easy and refreshing! Thanks for sharing.
Welcome!
The perfect sip for summer!!
I feel refreshed just reading about it. I can’t wait to make it. You put some of my favorite flavors together. Have you tried adding alcohol to make this a tasty adult beverage? I’m thinking white rum might work.
White rum will definitely work, as well as vodka!
Yes! I have SO much mint in my garden. I just need to grab some limes and I will absolutely be making this.
Can we talk about how refreshing this looks? Let me pull up my little bit of rum too LOL!
Lol!
This sounds so refreshing. Can’t wait to try it!
What a refreshing drink! Just perfect for a summers day barbeque!!
